Key Highlights & Special Features:

• Two New Elemental Types: To balance the wildly overpowered Psychic-types of Gen 1, Game Freak introduced the Dark and Steel types.
• The Shiny Pokemon Phenomenon: Generation 2 introduced alternate-colored "Shiny" Pokemon. Almost every player remembers their first encounter with the guaranteed Red Gyarados at the Lake of Rage!
• Day & Night Cycle: The games featured a real-time internal clock. Certain Pokemon (like Hoothoot) only appeared at night, and specific events only happened on certain days of the week.
• Breeding & Baby Pokemon: The introduction of the Pokemon Day Care allowed players to breed Pokemon and hatch Eggs, bringing us adorable "Baby" Pokemon like Pichu, Togepi, and Magby.
